Common Signs that Your Home Needs Repiping
Recognizing the subtle and not-so-subtle indicators that your home's piping system is failing can prevent significant damage and stress. Ignoring these warning signs can lead to extensive water damage, mold growth, and a diminished quality of life. Understanding these signals is the first step toward securing your home's plumbing integrity.
Here are the critical signs that suggest your Cherry Hill home may benefit from professional repiping services:
- Persistent Low Water Pressure: If water trickles instead of flows strongly from multiple faucets, or if pressure significantly drops when more than one fixture is in use, it often points to widespread internal corrosion and mineral buildup within your pipes, restricting water flow.
- Discolored or Rusty Water: Seeing brown, yellow, or reddish water, especially first thing in the morning or after returning home, is a strong indicator of rust and corrosion inside your pipes. This typically means your galvanized steel or aging copper pipes are deteriorating.
- Frequent Leaks: While an isolated leak can be repaired, recurring leaks in various parts of your home suggest that the entire piping system is compromised. This indicates widespread corrosion or weakness, making partial repairs less effective and costly over time.
- Noisy Pipes: Banging, clanging, or rattling sounds, particularly when water is turned on or off, can signal loose pipes or issues with water hammering due to changes in water pressure and flow. These noises can also indicate pipe degradation.
- Old, Outdated Pipe Materials: If your home still has original galvanized steel, lead, or polybutylene pipes, they are past their intended lifespan and prone to failure. Even if not currently leaking, these materials are known risks for future plumbing problems and health concerns.
- Sudden Increases in Water Bills: A mysterious spike in your water bill without a change in usage could indicate a hidden leak somewhere in your plumbing system. These leaks, often within walls or underground, point to a need for pipe inspection and potential replacement.
- Temperature Fluctuations: If your shower water suddenly turns scalding hot or icy cold when another faucet is used or a toilet is flushed, it can be a sign of poor pipe sizing or significant blockages disrupting proper water delivery and mixing.

Different Heat Pump Compressor TypesWhat’s the difference between single, two-stage, and variable speed compressors? Single-stage compressors have one output speed – high. Two-stage compressors operate most often at about 65% of total capacity, but full capacity during extreme temps. A variable-speed compressor has a fan motor that can move at different speeds and controls the amount of air dispersed in a home. A single-stage unit may offer the lowest initial investment, but it can cause high monthly energy bills. A two-stage unit is quieter and more efficient, while variable speed units are the most intelligent on the market and can save you big on energy costs over their lifetime.

Why Should I Choose Energy Star Qualified Products?ENERGY STAR® qualified products are great because they are scientifically proven to use less energy than traditional systems. This will not only help you reduce your energy bills, but will also help reduce your carbon footprint, doing your part to help the environment!

Why Is My Gas Furnace Producing Yellow Flames?A clear blue flame is a sign of a healthy system. If yours has changed color, it’s usually a symptom of a dirty burner or heat exchanger. Never leave a yellow flame unchecked, though, because it could also be a sign of a natural gas leak.

Robert was great! He switched out all of my leaky valves that were under my sink and fixed our dishwasher hookup. He was super friendly and great with my dog as well. Not only did he inform me of the missing handle on my water shut off which the township didn’t bother letting me know about when they switched my meter out but he was able to use one of the handles that were removed from under the sink so if I need to I can shut my water off. He did all of this in under two hours for a reasonable price. Would highly recommend it!- Michelle B.

Frequently Asked Questions About Repiping
How Long Does a Repiping Project Take?
The duration of a repiping project depends on several factors, including the size of your home and the complexity of the plumbing system. Generally, most residential repiping jobs can be completed within a week. At Bovio Rubino Service, we prioritize efficient project management to minimize inconvenience to our Cherry Hill clients. We plan meticulously and coordinate with you to ensure the project fits seamlessly into your schedule.
Effective planning not only speeds up the process but also enhances safety, reducing the risk of accidents or errors. This dedication to efficiency and client satisfaction signifies our commitment to delivering timely results without compromising quality.
What Are the Benefits of Repiping My Home?
Repiping your home can significantly improve water quality and pressure. New pipes reduce the risk of leaks and water damage, which can prevent costly repairs down the line. Additionally, modern piping materials like PEX not only enhance durability but also offer better resistance to Cherry Hill's climate variability. Updating your pipes also positively impacts your home's resale value, providing peace of mind and long-term cost savings.
Beyond these tangible benefits, repiping ensures greater uniformity in water temperature, which is especially beneficial during Cherry Hill's colder months. Upgraded pipes also contribute to an eco-friendly household by minimizing water waste due to leaks or inefficient flow, aligning with our community's conservation ethos.
Is Repiping Covered by Home Insurance?
Typically, home insurance policies do not cover proactive repiping. However, if damage from cracked or burst pipes is covered, your insurance may assist with repairs related to that damage. It’s advisable to review your policy details or consult with your insurance provider for specific coverage options. Our team at Bovio Rubino Service can provide documentation and guidance during this process to help facilitate any necessary claims for our Cherry Hill clients.
In navigating insurance questions, it's crucial to check for specific clauses addressing sudden damage versus gradual wear and tear, as this distinction could impact coverage eligibility. As part of our service, we assist Cherry Hill clients in gathering necessary documentation and liaising with insurance representatives to streamline the claims process, helping you recover potential costs effectively.
