What to Do About Mildew in Your AC

Summer has officially arrived and allergy season has started to wind down here in South Jersey. However, if you’ve been sneezing and wheezing in your home and have noticed a strong, musty smell every time you turn on your air conditioner—you may have a mildew problem.

Mildew in your AC can be a nuisance, but it can also lead to several health and comfort issues in your Cherry Hill home. The professional team at Bovio Rubino Service can help you determine if your air conditioner—or duct system—is contaminated with mildew, and provide long-lasting solutions to help keep your family healthy and comfortable all summer long.

The Dangers of Mildew in Your AC

Your air conditioner is responsible for sending cool and dry air throughout your home. If it becomes contaminated with mold, it can have a huge effect on your indoor air quality by transporting mold spores throughout your entire home. Mold and mildew have been connected to numerous health problems, including:

  • Stuffy nose & wheezing
  • Asthma & allergy symptoms
  • Lung inflammation
  • And more

Get Rid of Mildew at the Source

Cleaning the mildew from your air conditioner will bring some immediate relief. However, if the underlying source of the problem isn’t also dealt with, mildew will almost certainly return. There are many factors in a home that can create an ideal environment for mildew to grow—like excessive moisture or air leaks in your building’s envelope. The team at Bovio Rubino Service can help you identify the source of mildew in your home with IAQ testing and find long-lasting solutions.

Don’t Forget Your Duct System

When you find mold or mildew in your air conditioner, there’s a good chance your duct system is also contaminated. With duct cleaning services, you can breathe easier knowing that your mildew problem has been completely eliminated by our experienced and highly skilled team.

Exposure to Careers, Entrepreneurship, Community Betterment and Personal Wellness

South Jersey Rising Junior and Senior High School Young Women are Encouraged to Apply

Voorhees, New Jersey – April 1, 2026 – Young women going into their junior and senior years of high school who are thinking about their futures are encouraged to apply to attend the 2026 Bovio Rubino Service Young Women’s Leadership Conference on Wednesday, July 15 in Voorhees.

The application to attend the Young Women’s Leadership Conference is now live and available through Friday, May 1 by midnight. The Conference is part of “LeadHERship in ’26,” this year’s Bovio Rubino Service community cause which “seeks to advance the opportunities of young women through career readiness, entrepreneurship, community betterment and a personal health and wellness mindset.”

Speakers, workshops and discussions are part of the one-day Conference in July. The opportunity to present an original idea that betters the community after the Conference will be presented to the Conference attendees.

Investing in young women is an idea close to the heart of Bovio Rubino Service president Angela Rubino Hines, a Mom of two young women and a leader amongst very few women in the HVAC and Plumbing service industry. In 2025 Hines was named one of the country’s “Top 12 Women in HVAC” by ACHR News. While she’s humble about the success she has achieved it inspires her to encourage the next generation of women leaders.

“We look forward to investing in young women this year at our Conference, through creative programs with our team members and through partnerships with nonprofit organizations. ‘LeadHERship in ’26’ is our way of giving back and inspiring the next generation of women leaders right here in South Jersey where we live and where our customers live.”
